Shankar starts Rajini's Eanthiran - The Robot shooting in style. The first official publicity design has been released through the media with the posters being put up in almost all the cities of the state.

The important aspect that we came to know through the design is Rajini's appearance without his manly mustache. But an insider from Shankar's camp reveals that the director is having some novel ideas to show Rajini in a completely different style which is to be a revelation to Superstar Rajini's fans.

For the first time in the history of Rajini's films, the heroine's name also equally appears in the publicity designs with Rajinikanth.

Official sources from Shankar's camp confirmed that it is Rajini himself who asked the director to give equal importance to the heroine Aishwarya Rai also.

Her name has been discussed for Rajini's leading lady from the days of Padayappa, but it has finally come true only in Enthiran – The Robot. So Rajini asked the director to give equal importance to the former Miss Universe and numero uno among Indian female artists.

Ashok Amritraj, is not only a successful Hollywood producer but has also made his presence felt in the Tamil film industry with 'Jeans'. He is currently interested in remaking the Hindi film 'Race' with Ajith Kumar in the lead.
The Hindi original had two brothers played by Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna double-crossing each other which eventually leads to their downfall. Ajith was so impressed with the storyline that he immediately gave the approval to cast him. Not only that, he also evinced interest to perform both the roles.It can be recalled that Ajith played the roles of brothers in 'Valee' which went on to be the start of the dynamic career that he is having. The other film that he did dual roles (again brothers) was in 'Villain' directed by K. S. Ravikumar. Ajith bagged awards for both 'Valee' directed by S. J. Sathyam movie starring Vishal and Nayantara is finally hitting the theatres on Aug 14th. The movie has been censored both in Tamil and Telugu. Sathayam recieved a ‘UA’ certificate in Tamil and a ‘A’ certificate in Telugu with a few cuts and muted words in the movie.Out of the cuts suggested to the movie by the censor board is some hot scene’s in the Chellame song picturised on Nayan and Vishal. The Telugu version of the movie is named Salute. ‘Salute’ features Nayantara in a glamorous role and has reportedly performed in a steamy manner with Vishal in the song sequence of Chellame.Vishal plays Sathyam, a principled ACP and has performed all the stunt sequence without any dupe. Sir Alex Ferguson said this week it was "the end of the matter." Is this true?

"Yes. My coach was kind enough to come and see me in Lisbon a few days ago, which I think is common knowledge. It was a very honest conversation between two people that respect one other and that I'm sure share a mutual affection and friendship. What we said to each other will remain private. Sir Alex listened to me, I listened to him and we established that the best for both sides would be for me to continue at Old Trafford. So, I can confirm that I'll be playing for Manchester United next season. And before there are any rumours about me staying against my will, I want to make one thing clear: whoever says or writes anything to that effect is lying. I'll be playing at United with my heart and soul. I will fight and honour the shirt with the same desire and dedication as I always have."

How do you think the people at Real Madrid will feel about this?

"I want to say that I was the one that was responsible for all this controversy. It wasn't their fault because it was me that said publicly that I wanted to move to Real Madrid. It was also me, although wholly unintentionally, that caused the friction between the two clubs."

Your statements this summer demonstrated your desire to leave United and move to Madrid. What did you actually want?

"I knew that Real Madrid were interested in signing me and that they had, allegedly, made a very substantial offer to United. For a while, I wanted Manchester to accept the offer and for me to move to Madrid. If I denied it I would be deceiving everyone, including myself. Anyone who knows me knows that it would have to be something very important for me to admit such a thing. If there's one thing I've never been - nor do I ever want to be - it is ungrateful. Manchester United - from the Glazer family, the directors, namely David Gill, to the coaches, team-mates and backroom staff - is a club that will always be dear to my heart. Whatever happens in the future, that will never change. I'm very aware of what this club has done for me and I'll be eternally grateful, come what may. But it was because of this, because I knew this club was different and extraordinarily human, that I hoped that my wishes and my reasons would be understood."

What were the reasons that made you want to leave?

"After we'd won the Champions League, I felt that in five years I had helped win everything there was to win. We'd won the Premier League twice and I'd won a host of individual awards, including the best goalscorer in the Premier League, Champions League and in Europe. So I felt that maybe I needed a new challenge. I never hid the fact that I wanted to play in Spain, at Real Madrid in particular, and I thought this could be the right moment. United and Real are probably the two biggest clubs in the world and it would never be an easy decision to make. Apart from the challenge, everyone realises that Spanish and Portuguese culture and lifestyle are more similar. Those were the reasons that made me consider the change."

Nothing else? The attraction of an even more generous wage that Real Madrid are said to be willing to pay, for example?

"I'm aware that, whatever the circumstances, there will always be speculation about me. I knew that there would always be someone who'd say that my main concern was making more money. Others would insist that my vanity couldn't resist being linked to the biggest transfer fee of all time at the age of 23. Of course I am proud to see my work recognised, but none of this had any major effect on what I wanted. In fact, if it was just a question of money, I would never leave United.

"Apart from the reasons I've just given, I also have to recognise that my family would welcome the change. The chance of being an hour's flight from my mother and the rest of my family was very attractive, even more so playing for a club like Real Madrid. I know I have to deal with these circumstances, even though it's difficult sometimes, but it's harder to ask the same of the people I love the most. The best proof of what I've just said is the fact that I've just made a major investment in a house in Manchester, even though I didn't have to. I did it not just for my own comfort but also for those closest to me. The people at United, particularly the manager, understood my reasons. But we all eventually concluded that I should continue to wear that number 7 shirt. It's no sacrifice for me, it's a great honour. I have important things to win in England. I will give everything I have to United. I want to defend the European Cup and help United become world champions, not forgetting the league and other cups."

Are you afraid of the reception you'll get from the United fans?

"No, to be honest. It's possible but I hope it doesn't happen. I know I'm a good professional, I know that no one's harder on me than myself and that's never going to change, under any circumstances. The high point of my career was winning the Champions League. No one will ever erase that from my memory, in the same way that no one will ever erase the fact that I did it in a United shirt. What I said publicly, which was maybe a little naive, I take total responsibility for. People have to understand one thing: at the age of 18 I arrived at a dream club like United. It was a dream come true. But, even at that moment, I was thinking about playing in England for some years and then going to play in Spain. Even at that time I was thinking that way, and I always gave 100% everything. Why lie? I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say the opposite of what I think, like some others do. I said exactly what I thought: I have a dream of playing at Real and I thought it was time to move on. People can't be upset about me fulfilling a childhood dream."

But would it be fair for United to lose you while you are still under contract?

"I'm very aware of what this club has done for me. I'll be forever grateful. United and its fans can be sure that I'll never forget them, no matter what happens. They're special and they'll always have a place here [puts hand on heart]. In fact, I confess that one of the reasons I had the courage to say what I did was the fact that United would be fairly compensated. The figure mentioned, which would be a world record, would serve as some compensation for the debt of gratitude that I owe the club, as least in material terms. I'm going to say something here that I've never told anybody: if we hadn't been European champions I probably wouldn't have even thought about going to Madrid. And there is something else that should be mentioned: I never wanted to leave against United's will. When they turned down the offer, the people at United made it very clear how much they wanted me. I didn't fully understand it at the time, but now I can really appreciate it."

But you agreed with Sepp Blatter when the president of Fifa said that long-term contracts between players and clubs were a form of "modern slavery"?

"That makes no sense, nor do I believe that's what he meant, as he himself has already stated. My comment was about something else. I was saying that players should be where they feel happy. Nothing more."

Sir Alex was always intransigent and denied any possibility of a transfer...

"Believe me, it makes me proud to know how much he thinks of me. And he knows I feel exactly the same way about him. He has been one of the most important people in my playing career. Not only because of what I've learnt and continue to learn from him in sporting terms but also in human ones as well. I love the passion he has for football. If it were humanly possible I would like to have him always by my side. Of course it's not possible but it shows how much affection, admiration and respect I have for him. He has always been like a second father to me at United. I'll never forget it was him that explained the significance of the number 7 United shirt, which will always be my shirt. When I was at Sporting I had a number of offers, some of them very lucrative. One of them offered eight million Euros just as a signing on fee and meant that I would play for Sporting for one more year and then leave as a free agent. But money isn't everything. Real, Barcelona, Inter, Milan, Juventus, Valencia and practically all the big clubs were also interested.

"At the time, Jorge Mendes explained that United also wanted me and that Sir Alex Ferguson had told him that he would be very careful with my playing career. So I would play at least 50% of the games in the first season, which is what happened. This shows that I also chose United and that money wasn't the deciding factor. Alongside my agent [Mendes], Sir Alex Ferguson has been the most important person I've ever known in my career. Because of this, because of the special relationship that exists between us, I know that he'll understand that there are times when a father has to worry only about what's best for his child."

The Spanish press continues to say that your future is at Real Madrid...

"There's no point in making predictions. It's not worth speculating because nothing is set in stone and things change all the time in football. Today there are opportunities that no one knows if they will come round again in the future. There are only two certainties: I'll be playing at United, a club I'm proud to represent; Real Madrid will continue to be a great club without me and I will continue to admire them, as I have done since I was a boy. I'm saying what I think and I hope that all the speculation will stop. The press has written some terrible things about me and about this whole thing. They've invented a thousand and one things and that's one of the reasons why I decided to talk about this now. You can be sure of one thing: everything I've said comes from the bottom of my heart and is the only truth."

Which means you don't exclude the possibility the dream of playing for Madrid?

"I'm 100% professional and I've always given my heart and soul to this club. I even played a major part of the season injured, which was verified by my operation. I played in excruciating pain while taking anti-inflammatory medication every day. And I'd do it again if necessary. This club deserves it because the United staff and the fans are fantastic, not forgetting the affection and respect I have for Sir Alex Ferguson. If one day I leave the club, I want to do it knowing that I did everything I could to help the club win as much as possible. If that happens, I'll leave with the feeling of having done my duty to the maximum."

My favourite moment in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na -- and there are many -- comes early on, when Ratna Pathak Shah, playing Jai's mother, is shocked to see a sobbing Aditi being led into the house. Jai (Imran Khan) explains that she has just realised college is finally over. Aditi (Genelia D'Souza) nods, saying she doesn't know where the last five years vanished. Shah, fantastically supercilious and affectionate at once, delivers a line that will have mothers in the audience blowing wolf-whistles: 'On the phone, beta. On the phone.'

It's this kind of candid, relatable freshness that characterises Abbas Tyrewala's delightful directorial debut, a deftly made film about friendship, fibs, and falling for the obvious. Right from the film's opening, when AR Rahman's gloriously jazzy Tu Bole track floats Dolby-exploitingly from speaker to speaker, with just the film's name for on-screen company, a smile is thrust almost forcibly upon you. This is a film about 'feel,' your gut says -- and damn, it feels good.

There's a pretty distinctive line between films trying to be innocent, and films that actually come across as charmingly naive as this one. On this thick line fall the saccharine and the overdone, the eager-to-please and the collegekids-aged-40, but what makes Jaane Tu special -- as is the case with most films about friendship -- is a rock-solid ensemble cast that is mouthwateringly perfect. Take a bow, casting director Pakhi, this is a helluva nice set of good actors, with refreshingly unfamiliar faces.

There's Imran, smooth enough to look like he shaves thrice a day, and a disarmingly natural actor who grows on you sneakily. Before you know it, you're totally buying his act. And it's a simple, candid, relatable act -- no frills, no fuss, no muscles, no attitude. For an actor to generate Like is much harder than to strike Awe, and Imran does laudably well in this regard. It's a solid, restrained acting job carried off with more dazzle than is evident. Heck, I don't know if he can bowl as fast as his namesake, but he could certainly wheedle his way out of the match even before the toss.

Khan plays the peace-loving Jai Singh Rathore, and he's the straight man in his madcap gang: Alishka Varde does well as Bombs, the slow one; Karan Makhija adds character as the pessimistic Rotlu; Nirav Mehta is excellent as Jignesh, the one persistent yet affectionately etched caricature in the film; and then there's Sugandha Garg as the spirited, nickname-giving Shaleen, full of spunk and so hot she makes you want her number.

Seriously though, the acting is top-notch all around. Ratna Pathak Shah is magnificent, and every single Hindi movie could do with some of her, Prateik Babbar bestows the film with angst and maturity, Jayant Kripalani and Anuradha Patel make a great affable couple, Rajat Kapur's fun, and -- I've been saying this for a while -- there is ample demonstration of the great, great good that can be had by a stay order coming in the way of Paresh Rawal [Images] being wasted by Priyadarshan [Images].

This, plus three awesome cameos. The first features a senior actor who finally looks like he's found a film to just have fun in; and the second two follow that up very well, a pair of siblings playing desi Marlboro Men with bindaas aplomb, and resultantly delivering the finest performances of both their careers.

The story? The scenes? Oh come on, go in fresh for this one and enjoy it unfold. It's anything but unconventional, an ImtiazAli-esque warm-blooded romance replete with confusion, off-key singing and a narrative cribbed from Forget Paris. The magic here, however, lies in the lines, the characters, the words, and yeah, a 'feel' as fresh as a spanking new acoustic guitar composition by a old jazz vet trying to make the kids smile. And smile they do.

As for producer Aamir Khan [Images], after Lagaan [Images], Taare Zameen Par [Images] and this one -- I'll eat your hat if it isn't a tremendous success -- it must be said that he's setting a new benchmark in terms of Hindi film production. Every technical aspect of the film is honed to perfection -- be it Rajeev Soorti's vivid cinematography or AR Rahman's marvellously fountain-of-youth soundtrack -- and the final product is so bloody polished it'll have other movie posters looking jealously at it in the foyer. And Aamir understands that God lies in the details, which is why it's no coincidence that Imran's bedroom sign 'deadlines amuse me' returns to bite the character in the posterior during that insane climax.

And ludicrous or not, the climax -- like a majority of this film -- works because of The Girl. Genelia is an absolute corker, all firecracker eyes and irrepressible smile. She has always been super in this genre -- check her out in the Telugu Bommarillu -- but seeing her in this film just makes you conscious of the spark that has been missing in Hindi cinema for well over a decade now. She's spirited and natural, playing a wildcat and a whimperer, and it's very hard to resist her. Abbas has used her perfectly, bringing her Aditi in every time your inner cynic might need a shut-up-and-smile punch. And she's a knockout each time, not just Kabhi kabhi.

Abbas underscores what the pretty Mala (Renuka Kunzru) realises at the airport, that the magic of a story lies in its telling. And the rag-tag bunch of narrators he's created do an absolute bang-up job. Sure it's the hero's vehicle -- and you can earmark this Imran lad as one to watch for -- but all love stories which have you falling for the girl are automatically magical.

For no matter how maddeningly filmi the climax, Aditi's smile makes you believe -- and love.

AR Rahman and Kamal Join their hands for Marmayogi

A R Rahman will team up with Kamal Haasan for 'Marmayogi' and the mega movie will hit the floors next month in Mumbai. The film is written and directed by Kamal Haasan.

This period film set in the sixth century AD features Kamal Haasan in the lead role.

According to a confident Kamal Haasan, 'music would be the mainstay of the movie. I will be joining hands with Rahman for the project. We are sure of creating wonders'.

The relation between the 12th century event and the present story.

Science wise, as labeled as Chaos theory, it is the thrusting of the idol into the sea that caused the tectonic plates to move in the first place. This is what caused the tsunami centuries later because of the cumulative effect.

Religion wise, Rangarajan Nambi dies saving the idol. Ironically, here, man (Nambi) tries to save god (idol). Trust Kamal to place his ideological cue here. Kamal suggests that man (Nambi) here is indeed God (remember Anbe Sivam!) and the Idol/God is a mortal. Nambi is the Jesus figure of the story. He tries to help his people and their faith but is humiliated and stoned by the people and pierced with pointed objects by the ruling empire (resembling the crucification of Jesus). Nambi has failed to save his people and God (the idol).

Cut to 2004. Nambi is resurrected (read Jesus like ressurection) and is here as Govind. Hence the cross mark on his forehead (band aid). A lot of clues suggesting the resurrection include the facts that both Nambi and Govind get hurt on their forehead protecting what they think is vital. In the final scene, Govind suggests that him and Andal have already joined. It is upto Govind to fulfil Nambi's incomplete prophecy which he does. He saves the so-called-God (idol) and sustains the faith of the people on God/him (Andal says "Neenga hero than, adhula sandeham illa")

Narasimha avatar - Shingen Narahashi
first of all the name itself is a play on the words singam [means lion in tamil] and narasimha [the avatar being symbolised]. Lord Narasimha manifests himelf to kill the bad guy and he also teaches prahaladha. In the movie, he shows up to kill the killer fletcher! and is also a teacher.. Lord Narasimha had to kill the asura with bare hands and hence the martial arts exponent here.. get it?

Koorma avatar - Bush
This is the most loose adaptation I couldn't clearly comprehend. But if you look at the real koorma avatar, the lord is the turtle/tortoise that helps in stirring the ksheera sagara and bringing out the amruth. This essentially creates war among the devas and asuras. Similarly today Bush facilitates war between you know whom… May be Kamal also indicates that this avatar is a bit dumb like the tortoise…

Vincent is the dalit diplomat, fights for land issue [soil issue to be exact] and dies from the metal rod striking his leg. Oh even five of vincent's men are drugged at P. India’s most respected film award, the 54th National Film Awards, has just announced the winners for 2006. (The awards had been horribly delayed because of some stay orders). Priyamani has once again done Tamil cinema proud by winning best actress for Paruthiveeran. Earlier she had won at the Osian’s festival as well. Responding to the honour,

the actress said, “I am elated, happy and speechless at the moment. It can’t get better than this. Muthazhagu has given me everything- Name, Fame, Awards, Recognition and above all box-office success.” The best Tamil film went to Vasanthabalan’s Veyil. Finally, Soumitra Chatterjee bagged best actor for the Bengali film, Podokhep. Unbelievably enough, this marvellous actor has never won a National Award for this category before! The best feature went to the Malayalam film Pulijanmam, directed by Priyanandanan. Once again, Madhur Bhandarkar bagged best director for Traffic Signal. Predictably Lage Raho Munnabhai won for most popular film, while Kabul Express and Eakantham jointly took the Indira Gandhi prize for best first film of a director. The youngest director in the world, Kishan SS (who was nine when he made the film) won best children’s film for Care of Footpath. Vishal Bhardwaj was given a special jury award for Omkara, while Konkona Sen Sharma took best supporting actress for the same. Dilip Prabhavalkar won best supporting actor for LRM and for Shevri. Best cinematography was awarded to Goutam Ghose for Yatra.

Rahman was named the best music director for his score in “Guru” at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) 2008 awards here Sunday night, while the Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Om Shanti Om” swept a number of technical awards. Shreya Ghoshal won the honours for the best playback singer (female) for “Barso re” from Mani Ratnam’s “Guru”, which film also bagged awards for the best background score (Rahman) and best song recording (H. Sridhar).

The best playback singer (male) award was bagged by Shaan for “Jab se tere naina” from “Saawariya”.

Veteran Javed Akhtar was named the best lyricist for “Om Shanti Om”, which also garnered awards for best special effects (Red Chillies Entertainment), best art direction (Sabu Cyril), best costume design (Manish Malhotra, Karan Johar and Sanjeev Mulchandani) and best makeup.

The award for best screenplay was won jointly by Anurag Basu (”Life in a Metro”) and Jaideep Sahni (”Chak De! India”).

2.25 crore for Kuselan Audio

Kuselan will definitely make a Kuberan out of producer K. Balachander who is producing the movie under Kavithalaya banner. Big Music, an Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group company has won the bid of the audio rights of Kuselan for a whoping of Rs 2.25 crore.

Kuelan audio has fetched a way higher price than superstar Rajinikanth’s previous movie Shivaji. All the five songs by music director G.V Prakash is complete and the music for this movie by this young musician is said to be very impressive.

The introduction song of Rajinikanth in the movie has lyrics as “MGR, NTR, Sivaji Thanthadhu Intha Cinemathan” which is sung by Shankar Mahadevan and is said to be a foottapping number. Another song has all of the superstar movie names like “Polladhavan, Murattu Kaalai, Pokkiri Raja and Rajadhi Raja ” in its lyrics. All the lyrics have been penned by Vali and Udit Narayan, Sadhana Sargam, Daler Mehandi, Chithra and Shankar Mahadevan have sung the songs.

Dasavatharam - Kamal's perfect ten

One striking feature that hits you in the face once you have watched ‘Dasavatharam’ is Kamal Haasan's passion for filmmaking. All the ten roles he has essayed have been meticulously planned right from the body language to dialogue delivery. Be it the American president George Bush, the Vaishnavite priest of the 12th century or Fletcher, the American baddie.

The eyes are considered the most effective tools in creating the right kind of attitude for any actor and Kamal Haasan is a master at that. There are many a time in the film when the audience would have to force themselves to believe that it is the same actor who is the good guy as well as the bad guy.

The expressive and determined eyes of the priest, the mushy and yet funny countenance of Balaram Naidu, the hilarious CBI officer and the peaceful martial artist eyes of the Japanese character have all shaped up to fit into any acting text book. Hats off to Kamal Haasan on the acting front!!

Based loosely on Chaos theory, the narration of the film promises a lot of excitement and as the story unfolds, somewhere down the line there are a few missing links that have been forcefully stitched together. Govind, the bio-scientist in the United States of America has been wronged by his boss who has intentions of selling his invention to wrong hands. The determined scientist doesn't give up. He sneaks it away and after a few accidents the invention lands in India. The hunt and race against time especially with Fletcher, the ex-CIA baddie sniffing at his neck with murderous intent culminates into Govind meeting an irrationally sentimental and at times sweet Andal (Asin). The baddie with sizzling Mallika Sherawat for company proceeds along the vulnerable Indian security system and shows up at the right places at the right time.

The narration then makes sure most of the characters played by Kamal get into close proximity in terms of geography. The stunt sequences are quite professional with its share of thrilling moments, but then there are too many coincidences consistently. The protagonist and his slowly, but surely falling-in-love lady companion seem to be jumping off just about everything. Soft landing seems to be a predictable option at most times.

When it comes to action and stunt scenes, ‘Dasavatharam’ is head and shoulders above most Indian films. The music element in the film is passable with some breathtaking re-recording bits in patches.

Cinematography has been simply awesome. The heavy compositing and trick shots have not dampened Ravi Varman's innate talent at creating the right kind of mood the film depicts.

‘Dasavatharam's’ review can never be complete without talking about the makeup part. Apart from the desired result one can guess the kind of effort and hard work Kamal Haasan would have had to go through just to get them on and that too on a daily basis. Makeup has been good overall except for a few shots that show off a kind of plastic look.

Computer Generated Imagery plays a huge role in the film. When the same actor plays seven feet plus youth and an old woman who is barely five feet, one can imagine the kind of intensive scaling and image manipulation by the CG team. Recreation of the 2004 Tsunami is impressive and the action part weaves the intensity of the story.

The direction has been apt sticking to the script in the true sense of the term. K. S. Ravikumar known for his simple style of narration has not been himself with ‘Dasavatharam’, but has shown sparks of ingenuity.

Kamal Haasan has stuck to his favorite subject of the 'no God' debate in this film too and has glorified himself probably for the first time on screen with a dialogue directed at him as being the 'Ulaga Nayagan'.

With Kamal Haasan playing ten roles, all other actors have been completely overshadowed.

This is a movie that has highlighted a highly talented and passionate actor in his entire splendor. At the end of the film one tends to ask….has Kamal Haasan been so spectacular that he has overshadowed the script and story this time?

Scores of technicians are burning the midnight oil this week to make thousand prints ready and available to all the theaters that screen the mega budget movie 'Dasavatharam'.

The producers of the film are also printing posters featuring all the ten roles so that audiences can familiarize themselves with the characters. Every major theater across Tamil Nadu is screening the film.

The story of the film could be something like this….a scientist invents a machine that helps people travel through time. A bunch of baddies want the technology for their ulterior motives. The scientist, possibly eccentric, wants to safeguard it desperately. But somehow it lands up in the custody of an old woman in Tamil Nadu.

Could the movie be complete without using the unique technology? That is where the fun is going to be…. Traveling to the 12th century and back….probably with many stops in between. This should be a roller coaster ride of fun and frolic and to have a person of Kamal Haasan's caliber, this should be a joy ride

Mrs Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies
Categories: Cookies
Yield: 112 servings
2 c Butter
2 c Sugar
2 c Brown suga
4 Eggs
2 ts Vanilla
4 c Flour
5 c Oatmeal flour*
1 ts Salt
2 ts Baking powder
2 ts Baking soda
24 oz Chocolate chips
3 c Chopped nuts
8 oz Hershey bar(grated)

Preheat oven to 375 F. Cream butter and sugars together, add flour, oatmeal powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Then add chips, chocolate and nuts. Bake on ungreased coolkie sheet, golf-ball sized dough, 2 inches apart,for 6 minutes. Makes 112 cookies OATMEAL POWDER- Premeasure 5 cups oatmeal. Put in blender or processor, and grind until powdered.

I am writing this post after reading the story of a waiter who passed in the IAS exams.
Now a days the young minded are not interested in studying or working hard.
with the upcoming of the software field no one is ready to work hard to full fill their dreams.
All just want to get a degree and just join the software company.
Now a days this software job has become very easy and all are fasinated and attracted towards this unpredicatable future.

Amongst this kind of situation K.Jaiganesh (29) who was a waiter in the canteen in satyam theatre strived very hard and had passed the Indian civil services examinations.
After his unsucessful 6 attempts , without even losing the confidence ,instead he gain experience
and took each failure in his life as a stepping stone for his great success.

His story is as follows,
In Chennai for the last eight months, K Jaiganesh (29) served food to hungry customers at a small eatery next to Satyam Cinemas in the city. Now, he will continue to serve people, though in a different capacity — as a civil servant. Battling poverty, Jaiganesh has fought his way up to emerge the 156th rank holder in the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam 2007.
Born in an impoverished, backward class family in a remote village, Vinavamangalam, near Ambur in northern Tamil Nadu, Jaiganesh is now looking forward to moving away from cleaning tables and taking food orders to learning the nuances of administration at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Public Administration in Mussourie.
Jaiganesh, who managed to acquire a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Government Thanthai Periyar Institute of Technology in Vellore, had to take up odd jobs in order to pursue his dream to join the IAS.
The eldest of four siblings, he had landed in Chennai after graduation. “I had tried unsuccessfully to appear for the civil services examinations thrice from my village. I realized that I needed to be in Chennai to be able to make it. Therefore, I secured admission at the government-run All-India Institute for IAS Coaching at Anna Nagar. Having come here, I had to take up whatever work I could get to pay my monthly mess bill of Rs 600 and travel,” he recalls.
At first, he worked in Satyam Cinemas, issuing tickets for a monthly salary of Rs 3,000. “But soon, I found myself caught in a 10 am to 8 pm job that did not give me enough time to prepare for the civil services. As a result, in 2004 I failed in the main examination. I decided to quit the job and moved from one job to another before landing up as a waiter. Thankfully, at the eatery I had time to study,” Jaiganesh says. During his three years in Chennai, Jaiganesh stayed with his friends and used their phones to stay in touch with others. After rumors about a possible Billa II with Ajith, sources reveal that Soundarya is now busy jotting down plans also for Vijay and Vikram. Billa II, however, is still in the air with no official announcement from either side.

Dasavatharam is nearing its release date – that is being kept under wraps until now – and has recently underwent the censor certification. The panel members, after watching the movie, have advised 9 cuts and passed the movie with U certification. Censor scissors seem to have sheared a few scenes from the Mallika Sherawat item number. Not

too surprising, given the fact that Mallika has never been in the good books of Censor Officials.

That apart, few other scenes also succumbed to scissor hands. However, according to a censor board official, the movie does not have any controversial scenes that might provoke the religious sentiments. “There are no scenes that show the idols of Hindu Gods in poor light and no idols are shown being smashed,” another official was quoted as saying.

With that Kamal’s multi-language and multi-crore summer visual extravaganza is all set to hit the screens in the first week of June. And if the legal wrangles pose hurdle, the movie would be released in the last week of June. An official announcement is expected in this regard soon.

According to the Wall Street Journal today Yahoo could be talking Google about the outsourcing of search advertising sales. This comes as, so the report suggests, as part of two pronged strategy to fight off the Microsoft acquisition threat. The other prong being a deal with AOL to combine Internet operations.

But it's the whole is Yahoo finally admitting that Google does advertising better thing that intrigues me, and I suspect a lot of other Internet watchers. Especially considering that Yahoo has always dismissed the notion that Google is better in this regard up until now. Of course, it does still seem to be fairly dismissive, insisting that that it is "only a limited test" which will involve no more than 3 percent of Yahoo's web search queries and adding that it "does not necessarily mean that Yahoo will join the AdSense program."

Yeah right, and the Pope is Jewish.

By outsourcing to AdSense Yahoo could boost its cash flow, no doubt about that. Equally, I suspect, there is little doubt that industry regulators would take an interest considering that such an arrangement would give Google something like 90 percent of the search advertising market. So in order to fight Microsoft off, perhaps Yahoo will deliver an early Christmas present in an opportunity for MS to fight back at Google with an anti-competitive complaint…

No action against Mallika

The Chennai police have decided not to take any legal action against Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat.

This consensus was reached due to the consultations that the police had with the lawyers who made it clear that '��how to dress'�� being a personal matter, no legal provision exists for moral policing.

Mallika Sherawat was in the news again following a complaint from Hindu Makkal Katchy leader Kaniraj, who alleged that she wore revealing dress in the '��Dasavatharam'�� audio release function.

The complaint alleged that her dress code was not only obscene but also not suited the Tamil culture.

She was in the stage along with the Tamil Nadu Chief minister M Karunanidhi, action hero Jackie Chan, Amitabh Bachchan , Mammootty and Kamal Haasan.

Last month a similar complaint was made against actress Shreya Sharan when she attended the success celebration of '��Sivaji'��.

But Shreya was quick enough to tender an apology to escape scat free.

The worst ever film i have seen in the recent years…you may or may not beleive but this is the true.as im belonging to the category who loves pukka commercial entertainer,so that i watched this film with my roommates(obv vijay fans) make to watch this film in FDFS itself.

The reason i went for this film is bcoz of pokiri.bcoz this is the film which has all the ingredients like action,romance,sentiments,and all.

so that with the impact of this film i went to this film.but for me this is not even 10% of ghilli.!to be a frank i have spent nearly an 2 1/2 for this film and my 80 rupees for this film.even im not a great fan of vijay i do like him because hes somewhat doing good in dance in song.so that i had gone to this film with my friends,those who are all die hard fan of vijay.but most of them got vexed before 45 minutes of climax.i was completely vexed,coz the climax especially the stunts which vijay has done is completely horrible.i think he is thinking of him like a superman or spiderman.thats why he is doing something which cant be done by an ordinaru hero.and the another disgusting thing is the screenplay there is no proper sccreenplay.we can predict the story easily.one of my friend who was sitting nearer to me told all things rightly,that too he is watching that film for the first time.as the whole this film is totally suckz.the people who watched this film wasted their money!do you?

After the producers decided abt producing the film, Kala Prabhu ( son of Danu ) decided if they could ask Rahman for scoring the music. So I decided to approach ARR. I met him and said, " Isaye ( Music), Listen to the story. If you like it, do the music. Dont accept it because my son is directing it.". The next day, Rahman listened to the story, and said, " Wonderful Story. Give me six months. I will compose the music myself and give. But when he came for the Puja, due to some influence in his mind, he started composing within 3 months time. It was decided that there would be 4 songs for the film. Kalaprabhu picturised the song that was given by Rahman, and Rahman did additional two songs after seeing the same.

When Maniratnam was associated with Illayaraja, and when Rahman was working with Illayaraja at that time, and when some directors used to approach, he used to play those songs of Mani and exclaim , how well these have been picturised. After seeing the songs of Sakkarakatti, Rahman is calling his friends, his team of people, and showing them how well the songs are picturised. Rahman has popularised the songs, even before it has hit the screens.

Synopsis:

Why did Harbhajan Slap Sreeshanth?

I have no respect to this retard - irrespective of good or bad he
is. He does not deserve to play for any team. There is no way
on the field that players do childish act. Now he has shown his
wings, irrespective of what Sreesanth said to him. There is no
place for such idiots and I have lost faith in him. I would like to
see this retard be taken out of all forms of the game.
I have supported 110% when he was down and under in Aus.
Now I know for sure - he has that plug, which when released
goes berseck.....may be he is a good spinner in mental
retarded places where anger management classes are offered. It is not going to bring any sort of justice in such

There is no reason for any one to cover for him....it is shame

Sources say that Sreesanth after the match happily went to shake hands with Harbajan which is normal in cricket, while shaking hands Sreesanth commented on the loss to Harbajan by saying that it was 'hard luck', this some how was taken in the wrong sense by Harbajan who was already feeling pretty bad about all the losses in the IPL matches which finally ended up in all the wrong ways it could(Harbajan slaping Sreesanth some where below his right eye)
Harbhajan is getting uncontrollable - Hayden rightly said he is an obnoxious weed. Board of Cricket should slap him a ban, his action is not at all justifiable .. you cant just hit a fellow player like that. Why only Shoaib Akthar got the ban, harbhajan too deserve it. Sreeshanth is little aggressive, but hope he learned his lesson by this.
I think Hayden was right when he called Bhajji 'an obnoxious little weed' - Sreesanth is all aggression but in case u guys had not noticed he was really behaving himself these past few days. He could have just slapped Bhajji in return and not break down!

Vodafone to introduce Apple iPhone in India

Vodafone India, the arm of UK based world’s largest wireless telecom company Vodafone, is likely to carry much awaited, versatile and Macintosh operating system based Apple’s iPhone in the coming September as per rumours spread in the country.

According to rumours, Vodafone India is going to officially introduce Apple’s iPhone, a combination of ipod, wireless Internet and mobile phone in India, while Vodafone has officially denied any such plan.

But, from the various internal official sources, Vodafone has signed a deal with Apple to carry iPhone in India ‘officially’, which is known as one the biggest market of mobile phones in the globe.

As per TRAI report, the number of mobile phone users will reach to 500 millions by 2010 and still have a critical market to exploit it for many companies.

Apple has targeted to sell 10-millions mobile by the end of this year. It’s selling in European countries are slowly decreasing while China, the biggest market of mobiles have already denied to carry it.

Initially, it would be in 8GB of capacity with price range of Rs 27,000 to 28,000 while its enhanced version of 16 GB model will be launched by mid 2009 after viewing the first version’s response. However, iPhone is already available in Indian grey market in the lesser prices of Rs 20,000 to 22,000.

But, its locking code does not allow to exploit its all functionality. It runs only one network and Macintosh Operating System. AT&T has been developed software for it.

Apple has already opened its first store in Mumbai while going to open its second and third showroom in Bangalore and Chennai very soon.

After launching in the US market in last June 29, Apple’s iPhone has gained huge popularity and had sold 1.4-millions of handset by end of November 2007. Its exclusive one network running option has encouraged the hackers to unlock the handset. Several hackers became successful to unlock it.

After some modifications, Apple has again launched it in the market but could not restrain the hackers.

However, viewing its exception quality, the experts believe that it will gain immense popularity in the ever growing Indian market.

Apple’s iPhone is an amalgamation of camera phone, iPod and wireless Internet system that provides visual voicemail and text messaging, local Wi-Fi connectivity, e-mailing and web browsing.

It is sleek, compact, with multi-touch screen equipped with virtual keyboard and buttons. It is a quad-band cellphone that works on GSM standard. Moreover, it has a better technology of browsing the net with EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution) that provides up to three times more data capacity than GPRS (General Packet Radio Service).

Plot Outline:

The film begins with a baby taking his initial steps on a beach while the father is supporting him. The narrator in the background ( Director ) states that, it is right for a father to support his child in his infancy, but questions whether the father should continue to hold the child’s hand even after he is 24 years old. As the credits roll, a visibly angry Santhosh (Jeyam Ravi ) begins uttering abuses at all the fathers in the world. When inquired about his disgust, he says that his father, Subramaniam (Prakash Raj), gives him more than what he asks for. He cites instances where his choices of dressing, hairdo and many others are stashed away by his father’s. However, he vows that the two things that will be of his choice would be, his career and the woman he would marry.

Post- credits, Sathyan , the Subramaniam dutiful household’s servant wakes up Santhosh in the morning. In the background, we see Santhosh’s mother, Lakshmi (Geetha) singing a devotional song while cooking. At the dining table, Subramanium, Managing Director of their construction company, inquires if Santhosh will join their office for managing their business. When Santhosh deliberates, his father doesn’t stand any longer and instead plans for his marriage despite Santhosh’s silent protest. The next week, he returns home to realize that he is going to get engaged to Rajeswari( Keerat ) against his wishes. He speaks with her only to realize that she is a daddy’s girl ( Vijaya Kumar being the father) and she not being to his liking. However, with Subhramanium’s final say, they eventually get engaged.

While contemplating on his options in a temple, Santhosh accidentally meets Hasini (Genelia D’Souza), an engineering student. Seeing her chirpy nature and vibrance, Siddhu begins to like her. He makes attempts to know her by meeting her on a regular basis. In the process, he starts liking her cherubic and ever-friendly nature and as someone who does what she loves. As days go by, he realizes about so many small things in her company that gave him happiness. He realizes that he has fallen in love with her.

Alongside this, Santhosh applies for a bank loan to start out on his dream of building his career. When his love for Hasini deepens, he wishes to propose to her. He confesses to her that he is engaged to get married to Rajeswari against his wishes, but what he really wants is her. On knowing of him being engaged, Hasini gets dejected, but comes back a day later and asks him to do what he wishes for and accepts his proposal. At this juncture, the ecstatic Santhosh is seen by a furious Subramanium. Santhosh is admonished back home and he expresses his disinterest in marriage with Rajeswari. When asked for his reason to like Hasini, Santhosh replies saying that if Hasini can stay with their family for a week, then all their questions shall be answered. He convinces Hasini to stay at his house after seeking permission from her father, Sayaji Sende.

When Hasini is introduced to Santhosh’s family, she gets a lukewarm welcome. As she settles down in the house, one after the other begins to like her. Even though getting used to the living habits of the authoritarian Subramanium’s household was difficult, Hasini stayed put for Santhosh’s sake. In the meanwhile, Subramanium reprimands Santhosh when he knows of his bank loan and his plans, only to further enrage Santhosh. One day the entire family along with Hasini attends a marriage ceremony. A cheerful Hasini cheers up the ceremony with her playful nature. Coincidentally, Sayaji who happens to be around, recognizes Santhosh as the drunken young man whom he encountered on an earlier occasion. Hasini realizes her father’s presence and quickly exits to avoid his attention. After saving their grace, Santhosh admonishes Hasini for her antics at the marriage. A sad and angry Hasini moves out of the house saying that she does not find Santhosh the same and that she cannot put on an act if she stays in their house. After getting back to her house, she rebuilds the trust her father has in her while Santhosh is left forlorn. Lakshmi confronts Subramanium on Santhosh’s choices and wants. In the process, Santhosh opens up his heart and leaving Subramanium to repent on his foolishness. Santhosh requests Rajeswari and her parents to call off the impending marriage. While they relent, Subramanium manages to convince Sayaji about Santhosh and Hasini’s marriage. In return, Sayaji wants to know more about Santhosh by having him live in house for a week. Subramanium agrees with this and as the story returns to the pre-credits scene, the viewers are left to assume about the happy marriage of the protagonists.

After the union of cricket & Bollywood in the Indian Premier League(IPL), Sunday will witness the presence of high-profile politicians Rahul Gandhi & Priyanka Vadra.

Apart from an act by ShahRukhKhan during the innings break of the Kolkata-Hyderabad match, the siblings from the first family of Indian politics will be the star attractions for the first home match of the team backed by the superstar.

Even without these factors, the match has evoked quite a bit of interest & the tickets made available to the public have been sold out. The Cricket Association of Bengal couldn't confirm whether this would mean a full house because owners Red Chillies Entertainment haven't disclosed how many tickets were given for public sale.

The show by Shah Rukh will cost the organisers some money in the form of amusement tax to be charged by the state government. It will take place on a stage erected in Block J, which means, this section will be closed for spectators. Kolkata Police will also charge a hefty fee for providing security.

But that hasn't deterred the organisers from lining up several entertainment programmes during other match days featuring stars like Kareena Kapoor & Bipasha Basu. of aluminum, platinum, titanium, tungsten, silver, and gold to create tints
of gold, blue, gray, black, and even multicolored irridescence. The technique
involved a Ti:sapphire laser system emitting 800 nm, 65 fs pulses at about
1.1 mJ/pulse. The horizontally polarized laser beam can modify single spots as
small as 10 μm in size, or large areas using a scanned laser beam. The laser
induces periodic nanostructures that change the refl ectance and absorption properties of incoming light. As the simple
technique is refi ned, says Guo, possible applications could include using a single laser to create colored metal bike

Review

Aazhiyile is painfully flow, but with a simple, ambient tune. Dhikku dhikku has a predictable tune, though the funky backgrounds are impressive. Pudhu pudhu is highly unconventional with a structure that hardly sinks in, while Sagiye is, thankfully, what we expect out of the composer - Jayashree’s amazing vocals defining the reggae’ish and sedate tune. Uiyalalo is merely an Andangakka clone with a lame change in tune, while Anbae has a strong Bheema hangover and is too familiar and hackneyed. Harris Jayaraj is pushing his luck too far with Dhaam Dhoom’s soundtrack – its time for a radical change, my friend!
